This video demonstrating Microsoft’s Photosynth project left me speechless and made me think the unthinkable; that computers are finally delivering on what they promised. It’s good news even if it is a mere 30 years late. Thanks to Lex Davidson for this link. Note that you need broadband to view this.

So, I have finally found a use for Internet Explorer. I figured out that the default full screen view gets rid of almost all of the border that makes up the window that you are browsing in. So, I figured that it would be a good idea to try and watch FLV videos (you know, the illegal indexed ones… shhh…) in it. It worked really well as there is only the small bar at the bottom left over, no white border to distract you from the show that you are watching.
Not much else going on right now, 24 is awesome, there is some homework to be done (I should get on that) and midnight madness tonight, as well as COBOL class, which is more interesting than I thought it would be.

Don’t you just love the web 2.0? I don’t even need to touch MS Office anymore, not that I have used it for a long long time (I use Portable Open Office). There are software suites out there now that are all web based. Granted it doesn’t have everything that one needs in an office suite (equation editing being an important thing) but that can be mimicked using pictures. I really recommend using Zoho Virtual Office as an alternative to other office programs. It will become even more useful as Vista looms just on the horizon making all your stuff soon to be obsolete (so run off and download linux!)
