Welcome

The Trent Graduate Students’ Association provides opportunities for graduate students to communicate with each other, and with the entire University community about issues and problems of particular concern to graduate students. The current executive welcomes the interest and assistance of all graduate students.
We have many avenues to contact us. Through this website, our facebook group (linked in contact us and below) and through our mailing address;
Box 326, 310 London Street, Traill College, Peterborough, Ontario Canada K9H 7P4. Executive meetings are 4-6pm on every other Wednesday, either at Traill College or Champlain Senior Common room.

What do we do?
The GSA publishes newsletters, organizes social events including summer barbeques, Christmas parties, and end-of-the-year banquets. Conference bursaries are made available through the GSA to qualifying graduate students. We also pay for your thesis microfiching after your defence and have created two yearly $1,000 endowed bursaries for graduate students. The GSA also hosts the Thomas H.B. Symons Seminar series which showcases current research by graduate students at Trent. Trent University currently has approximately 400 Masters and Doctoral students, pursuing graduate research in twelve different programs of study. This research ranges from Canadian history to water chemistry and from wildlife genetics to oral traditions. In order to inform and include a larger portion of the Trent and Peterborough communities, we have structured the our Seminar Series to encourage students to present their research in an engaging and accessible way. Please join us in building a strong and vital bridge between Trent University and the Peterborough community.
